ADHD in adults

Trouble sustaining attention, excess activity and impulsivity that make functioning harder.

ADHD, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, is a neurodevelopmental condition covering three main areas of difficulty: attention problems, excess activity and impulsivity. In adults it often shows up as trouble with organisation and planning, putting tasks off, losing things and difficulty sustaining attention, but also as inner restlessness, impulsive decisions and mood swings.

ADHD does not end with childhood — it affects about 5% of children and persists into adulthood in a large share of them, reaching about 2.5–3% of adults. When undiagnosed it is sometimes mistaken for laziness or a lack of motivation, although it has a biological basis and often occurs alongside other conditions.

A sound diagnosis makes it possible to understand how you function and to choose the right support. Treatment includes psychoeducation, psychotherapeutic and behavioural work and, where needed, medication. We also support the assessment with the computer-based MOXO test.

External structure helps in everyday life: to-do lists, reminders and a calendar, breaking large tasks into smaller steps, reducing distractions, and protecting sleep and regular physical activity. These habits round out treatment and genuinely make life easier.
